[ free bird ] Social Poetry Contest!

Introducing the [ free bird ] Social Poetry Contest — an interactive event of collecting and creating magnetic poetry fun!

The Social Poetry Contest is a fast-paced Collecting, Trading and Creating Event! Everyday from Sept 15 – 19 a new set of Magnetic Words will be released for ONE DAY ONLY! Group members will have the chance to grab a free Magnetic Word once an hour for 24 hours, and the gacha will also be available all day to collect as many words as you need to complete your Poem or Phrase before the next round begins!

At the start of the new round, the previous Magnetic Word Set will be RETIRED for the duration of the contest! Didn’t get what you needed? You’ll have to trade for it! (Do not worry — all word sets will be re-released after the contest for all your at home poetry making needs).

After you have your words, ADD them to your chosen [ free bird ] Social Poetry Contest Base and get ready to bring them to the main sim for display!

ALL SUBMITTED POEMS AND PHRASES will be on display for visitors to READ and VOTE for their favorite! Everyone who submits a poem will win a limited edition prize! The three poems with the most votes will also take home an extra special prize!

Bases available every 6 hours through Sept 19!

Word List #1 Available once an hour through 8PM SLT 9/16! Then it will be retired for the duration of the contest to make way for a new set of words!

8pm SLT Sept 15 – Magnetic Words Set #1 and Bases Available in the FFA and Gachas! Bases are available every 6 hrs through Sept 19!

8pm SLT Sept 16 – Magnetic Words Set #1 RETIRED FOR THE DURATION OF THE CONTEST
Magnetic Words Set #2 Available in the FFA and Gacha!

8pm SLT Sept 17 – Magnetic Words Set #2 RETIRED FOR THE DURATION OF THE CONTEST
Magnetic Words Set #3 Available in the FFA and Gacha!

8pm SLT Sept 18 – Magnetic Words Set #3 RETIRED FOR THE DURATION OF THE CONTEST
Magnetic Words Set #4 Available in the FFA and Gacha!

8pm SLT Sept 19 – ALL WORD SETS RETIRED UNTIL VOTING OPENS

Sept 20 – Trading and Writing Day!

Sept 21 & 22 – REZ DAYS! Bring your COMPLETED POEM OR PHRASE to the [ free bird ] sim and rez it in the designated location by 6pm SLT Sept 22nd! No Poem may be entered or rezzed after this date!

Sept 23 – 27 – VIEWING AND VOTING! Poems will remain on display during this time for visitors to read and vote for their favorites!
All Magnetic Word Set Gachas will be put back for sale during this time, HOWEVER Poems that have been put on display for the contest may NOT be altered in any way!

Sept 28 – TOP 3 WINNERS ANNOUNCED! ALL group members who placed Poems into the contest will receive a VERY SPECIAL LIMITED EDITION COLLECTION of Fall Words for all their future poem-building needs!

***THE RULES:***

Because the [ free bird ] main sim has a limited number of available prims, ONLY ONE SUBMISSION PER PERSON IS ALLOWED. Alt submissions are NOT welcome for this event! Anyone found breaking this rule will be disqualified from the contest and future [ free bird ] events.

Your poem or phrase must make grammatical sense. Strings of randomly placed words will not be accepted.

Your poem or phrase must be at least 8 blocks long

You must fill in ALL blocks of your chosen base. Blocks may not be left empty. If more than one base is used for your poem, all blocks must be filled on those, as well.

You may only use words provided from the [ free bird ] Social Poetry Word Collections FFA and Gachas. You may mix and match your words to make longer words (ie. Sun and Day to make Sunday — please note, this will take up two word spots on your base.) You may trade for needed words in the [ free bird ] group. The challenge is to be creative with what is provided.

Word Set lists will not be available until the day they appear in the Free-For-All.

You MAY combine more than one base if needed, provided that your final LI count is not over 3LI.

VERY IMPORTANT! [ free bird ] is a VERY active sim. Lag happens. PLEASE COMPLETE YOUR BASE BEFORE BRINGING IT TO [ free bird ]!

NOTE!! ONCE YOUR BASE IS COMPLETE, TAKE A PICTURE OF IT !!! BEFORE !!! TAKING IT INTO INVENTORY. WE WILL BE UNABLE TO REPLACE LOST BOARDS WITHOUT A VISUAL REFERENCE OF YOUR COMPLETED ITEM.
